BIRTHDAYS, CONVOCATIONS & MILESTONES
How to use Buy Me a Malt for birthdays, convocations, and other celebrations
Your birthday is coming up. You’re finally wearing that graduation gown. Or you’ve reached a milestone you can’t wait to share. Along with the congratulations, someone asks, “What can I get you?”
Your Buy Me a Malt page gives you a simple answer: a link where friends and family can send you a little treat, wherever they are. Think of it as leaving the door open for people who want to celebrate with you.
Get your page ready
Create your BMM page and choose a username. Already have one? Use the same page for your celebration. Update your bio to tell people what you’re celebrating, and choose a treat that feels like you: malt, jollof, suya, or your own idea.
Keep the invitation personal. “Celebrating my graduation this week!” gives your friends more context than a link on its own. Treats are monetary contributions; BMM doesn’t deliver the food or drink.
For your birthday
Share your page with your birthday photos, on your WhatsApp status, or in your bio. If someone asks what you’d like, send them your link. You could say:
“It’s my birthday! Grateful for another year and the people in it. If you’d like to send me a little birthday treat, here’s my BMM link: [your link]. Your wishes mean a lot too.”
For your convocation
The late nights, exams, and final project deserve a moment. Let people who cheered you on join the celebration, even if they can’t make it to campus.
“The gown is on. I’m officially graduating! Thank you for being part of this journey. If you’d like to celebrate with a little treat, you can buy me a malt here: [your link].”
For the other moments that matter
Finishing NYSC, launching a project, marking an anniversary, or reaching a personal goal can be a reason to celebrate. Tell people what the moment means to you and include your link as an optional way to join in.
“A little milestone worth celebrating: [your news]. I’m happy to share this moment with you. If you’d like to send a treat, here’s my BMM page: [your link].”
Share the link, then enjoy your day
Copy your page link from your dashboard and replace [your link] in your message. Open it once to check that your page looks how you want it to, then share it wherever your people will see it.
Keep giving optional. A kind message, a phone call, and showing up are ways to celebrate you too. Thank people for the love they send, and when their own big day comes around, return the thoughtfulness.
You’re allowed to let people celebrate you. And you can make a habit of celebrating them too.
